infotek: Ruth M. Chiong

Ms. Ruth M. Chiong is a native of Asturias, Cebu, from the clan of Montesclaros. She is a full-time teacher of Abellana National School and handling the subjects about business management and entrepreneurship.

She handles the KAB(Know About Business) a pilot class for selected fourth year (general curriculum) students.

She attended and participated various skills trainings and competitions in relation to her profession as a Business Management Teacher:

Demonstration Teacher/Lecturer and participant in the Know About Business(KAB) Curriculum Trainer's Training held at ILO-SRO, Makati City on April 18-28, 2006.
Regional Trainer in T.L.E. I & II and participant in the 2006 summer Regional Technical Education and Skills Training held at Abellana National School, Cebu City on May 21-27, 2006.
Curriculum writer in T.L.E. Instructional Materials for the development of guidelines for Functional Technology Shop and construction of test questions for regional periodic assessment held at Abellana National School, Cebu City, on July 10-11, 2006.
Participated in the Final Planning Conference for the conduct of the 2006 STEP-RSDC held at Larena, Siquijor on July 17-18, 2006.
Participated as Coach/Trainer in the area of Spreadsheet and won third place in the STEP-Regional Skills Development & Competition, held at larena, Siquijor on October 23-26, 2006.
Curriculum writer of the 2007 Summer Regional Technical Education and Skills Training (RTEST) Training Materials held at Applied Nutrition Center, Banilad, Cebu City on March 28, 2007.
Facilitator & participant in the 2007 Summer R-TEST (Integration of Entrepreneurship in Teaching Technology & Livelihood Education) held at Abellana National School, Cebu City on April 17-21, 2007.

She is currently the YECS Moderator of Abellana National School and was the President of the YECS Regional Moderators Organization for school year 2005-2006 and 2006-2007.(YECS-Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism in Schools)

Participated in the "Go Negosyo" at Teacher's Camp, Baguio City on July 26-31, 2006.

Coach/Teacher for the student and made the bead product that won 5th place for best T.L.E. project for the STEP Bazaar Competition in the STEP-NSDC held at Teacher's Camp, Baguio City, on November 19-24, 2006.

The desires of Ms. Chiong to let her young students be aware of the importance of entrepreneurship made her decide to use the free facilities of Asenso Campus Pal. With the advent of the new technologies where communities can collaborate in real time, to share, and improve skills online is necessary.
