THE SECRET OF JATROPHA PRODUCTION IN THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS OF CEBU, PHILIPPINES

There were hills affected by the El Nino in Northern Cebu. In as much as the technology is concerned, the most efficient plantation area is not the rocky mountain of cebu but the place of Northern Mindanao. Some parts of Northern Mindanao are rocky but rainful is abundant unlike Cebu that during summer the temperature goes higher as expected.  Northern Cebu is warmer than before and becomes more warmer every summer. To gain more in this venture is to consider and adapt the characteristics of the specie called JATROPHA (a perennial plant).  Jatropha can thrive even on hot weather condition but the harvests are not the same as those yields from Northern  Mindanao.  Why plant on the area where big inputs are required?  The equation is very simple.  Planting Jatropha in Northern Cebu requires manpower and some machineries to irrigate the field to have good harvest.

While planting Jatropha in Northern Mindanao requires little manpower and machineries because of the abundance of the rain the whole year round and the harvest is not only good but a better harvest compare to Northern Cebu.  In business, we should always consider the reasonable profit of every venture.  Thus, BIG PROFIT = YIELD - VERY LOW COST OF PRODUCTION.

Most of the time Northern Mindanao is rainy season so, a very good strategy to adapt to have a higher income for Jatropha project.

SOAP MAKING: Laundry

The author is now giving a very simple formula in making soap ( laundry soap ) that only uses ordinary kitchen utensils.  The author has been conducting training on this technology since 1993.   

MATERIALS NEEDED:

3/4 glass (regular drinking glass) vegetable oil or coconut oil
1/2 glass water
3 tablespoon caustic soda
2 tablespoon sodium silicate
perfume oil ( citronella ) to scent
mixing bowl
moulder

PROCEDURE:

1.  Mix the caustic soda and water ( during mixture the compound will produce heat ) let it cool.
2.  Then mix the oil to the cooled water with caustic soda.  Mix for 25 minutes or until it reaches the saponification state.
3.  Add sodium silicate and mix for 10 minutes.
4.  Before putting the mixture to the moulder add citronella to scent 1 to 4 ml.
5.  Put the mixture in the moulder.  Consume after 72 hours.  For high quality soap cure the bar soap for 10 days.

Note:

All the chemicals mentioned can be purchased at any drugstore.  These are all "over the counter" chemicals but parents and adults are advised to keep it away from reach of the children.

HOW TO PROSPER?????

Some lost their properties when they venture in new business. To get the spirit of an entrepreneur you should be GRATEFUL and HAPPY  whatever  happens  to  your  endeavor.

But how about those who haven't tried to move one (1) step to the Entrepreneurial World?  Life is full of surprises and everyone is entitled to receive these surprises whether you like it or not.

Again new designs by JAY R.  Natural inspirations just came up using geometric patterns with a little bit bold in colors.  The idea just exploded like a volcano erupting,  in the  mids  of  the  smoky  road  bio  diversity  plays  the big  role.

A trivia is the by word now.  " BIO DIVERSITY "

Recently,  studies shows that Philippines' seas has the highest bio diversity in the world.  It has more than 1,000 types of marine species, a very unique and can not be found anywhere else.

International organizations are now worried if this asset can be maintained by the experts and obviously local preservists can’t do it because of so many lapses,  be it politically or scientifically.

Economics in Philippines is growing but can it penetrate the masses in terms of alleviating their community status.  It turned out that most of the marine life became the livelihood of so many poor households.  What will happen next?  Of course shortage in food and natural marine habitat.  The latter was proven  to be interrelated to social and political status of the nation.  Well good luck for the success of preserving this world heritage.

It's never too late then, according to some exporters recycle the sea shells from some household.  Fashion accessories in Cebu must be aware of what was happening in the globe especially the oceans and seas.

FASHION ACCESSORIES: designed by Jay R

The abyss of our market might have no small players but the ingenuity and artistic character of an entrepreneur can survive in the less shining spot of the sea.

The model in this exhibit  is Ms. Cydtheresa Vito-Gabor, founder of Abellana National School Rescue Group that upon her request she dosn't  want to show  her face in all shows.

This would be the challenging part of asenso to provide an excellent demos and exhibits in less cost of production.  Who would think that some materials used were recycled?  So many requested that I should include other technologies for their livelihood and  I will try to cope with it.

Yes, to prosper is everybody's dream-and it's your dream, too.  A lot of people say it's getting harder and harder to earn and make money these days.  That might be true, but it all depends, if you change immediately for the better automatically you become resourceful and self-reliant person.

Jatropha: Is it working?

Last year was a very busy day for us doing the research on Jatropha.  Mr. Michael Arreglo who was on vacation from a world navigation was with me doing the task.  Bebe was excited too.  This was a job to be done immediately before Boy will leave Cebu for abroad.  I'd done my task and it's quite tiresome.  This was a 17 hectares farm from a 60 hectares proposed project.  Under the sun there is no barren land. Barren land is a product of a barren minds.  Plants need soil, water, air and minerals and it's true and everything is perfect and we have to appreciate it even if they will say it's a barren land.  Some countries already studied this specie and found out that it's good for biodiesel.  In our studies, we found out that only 60% will germinate from seeds.  But planting it using cut branches of Jatropha produces 100% new planting materials.  We are now adopting this technology and thanks to the family of Mr. Arreglo and himself who help me push through this project.  The top left picture is Mr. Arreglo with his sister-in-law Bebe.  The site is located in northern Cebu, Philippines.  The plan to expand will soon be materialized after this project's task are all accomplish.  Jatropha is resistant to drought and we are planning to plant it in mountainous area to help reforest northern cebu.  I am now preparing for the new requirements for the sustainability of the project's operations.
